A PATIENT has been transported to hospital after suffering a "serious injury" in a crash.
The B1018 Cressing Road in between Witham and Braintree has been closed in both directions.
The crash reportedly happened earlier this afternoon, and involved a bin lorry and a car.
The road was closed in both directions, and it is understood remains closed now.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed one ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and an Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Temple Lane in Cressing this afternoon, after being were alerted to the incident.
They continued: "One patient with a serious injury was transported to Broomfield hospital by road ambulance."
