A CONVENIENCE store was unable to open after a break-in where cigarettes were swiped.
The Co-op store, in Brook Street, Great Bardfield, was closed yesterday after a burglary which saw cigarettes stolen from the store.
Essex Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
Police officers were called to the store in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A probe has been launched, and investigating officers have urged anyone with information on the incident or CCTV footage to come forward.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "We are investigating a burglary which is believed to have taken place shortly before 1.30am on Thursday, April 27 at a shop in Brook Street, Great Bardfield.
"A quantity of cigarettes was taken. Our inquiries continue."
She continued: "We need anyone with information or footage to come forward. Get in touch by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am and 9pm."
