NATURE fans are being given the chance to go on a guided walking tour of a country estate.
Spains Hall Estate, at Finchingfield, is holding the event to show how it is becoming more nature-friendly and the land is being repurposed towards a more environmentally sustainable future.
Owner Archie Ruggles-Brise is currently using 500 hectares of land to pioneer a sustainable land stewardship involving several programmes, including a ground-breaking natural flood management initiative, the largest agroforestry system in the UK, introducing new native woodland, and running outdoor educational, nature-based therapy programmes for schools and community groups.
On the three-hour, three-mile tour, the team will give visitors the chance to get a closer look at the estate's natural approaches to reducing flooding, storing water to relieve drought, trapping carbon and supporting wildlife recovery, as well as other methods being used to make farming more sustainable and environmentally-friendly.
The event is on Tuesday, June 20, and costs £40 (£5 children), with 20 per cent off for local residents.
