A SWIFT response from firefighters averted a potential disaster as they battled a grass fire on a busy Essex road.
Last night, a grass fire has alarmed drivers on A12 between Junction 11 and 12, near Brentwood in Mountnessing.
The incident occurred at approximately 3pm prompting emergency services to rush to the scene.
Upon their arrival, fire crews discovered a pile of rubbish and a significant area of grass engulfed in flames.
With the fire spreading rapidly due to dry weather conditions, the situation required immediate attention.

Acting swiftly, firefighters swiftly set to work, utilizing their specialized equipment to contain and extinguish the fire.
Working in a coordinated manner, they managed to bring the blaze under control by 3.30pm preventing further damage to the surrounding area.
