A FACILITY for special needs children has received a grant to provide extra activities and one-on-one support for children.
Braintree's Happy Hill Essex, a dedicated organisation catering to children with acute additional needs, has been awarded a substantial grant of £8,752 from the Comic Relief Community Fund.
The grant will be used to fund a specialist key worker in their activity clubs, providing crucial one-to-one support for children who continue to be impacted by the pandemic.

Children supported by Happy Hill Essex face a range of complex needs that require individual attention, varying from one-to-one support to even five-to-one support.
The newly appointed key worker will play a pivotal role in empowering children with special educational needs and disabilities to enhance their independence, social skills, and communication abilities in a safe environment.
Due to behavioural and physical limitations, the children at Happy Hill Essex often miss out on the opportunities mainstream youngsters enjoy.
With the support of the Comic Relief grant, the organisation aims to offer children exciting new experiences, such as visits to theme parks, the seaside, parks, zoos and gardens.
Happy Hill Essex will work with the children's schools, parents and carers, and other healthcare professionals.
