A TOWN hall will be lit up blue in honour of the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
Braintree Council is lighting up the landmark building tonight as a tribute to the NHS.
Braintree Town Hall will join many other buildings and landmarks nationally in lighting up blue.
The blue light is the symbol of the NHS and is a tribute to the ongoing dedication, commitment and hard work of all the staff.
Braintree Council chairman Diana Garrod visited Braintree Community Hospital to show her support as part of the celebrations.
She aims to support people’s health and well-being during her term in office and has chosen the Salvation Army as the charity for the civic year.
She said: “We are very proud to be lighting up our town hall blue to honour the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
“We would like to highlight and thank all the amazing people who work for the NHS and the fantastic care they provide us with every day.
“NHS staff were particularly dedicated during the pandemic when many risked their own life to help others.”
