A WOMAN was left injured following an early-morning assault on layby of a major road.
Essex Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Braintree last month.
Officers were made aware of an assault which took place on a layby along the A120 between Braintree and Colchester at around 2am on Friday, 4 August.
The female victim sustained minor injuries and was assisted by members of the public.
A 31-year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers has since been arrested on suspicion of common assault.
He has since been released with bail conditions whilst enquiries continue.
Officers are still appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “We are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident, particularly the members of the public who assisted to contact us.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.”
