NEARLY 200 people attended Braintree Council's job fair event as it made its return to the town.
The Braintree Job Fair was held on Saturday, allowing residents to meet employers from across the district and find out more about job opportunities in the area.
The event ran from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Causeway House, attracting 175 attendees to meet over 20 employers including Essex Police, Braintree Village, Bensons School of Motoring, Maycast Nokes Precision Engineering, eSmart Networks as well as local care homes and services.
The free event was the second to be run this year.
In attendance to meet employers was Braintree Council chairman Diana Garrod, as well as economic growth and planning bosses Frankie Ricci and Gabrielle Spray.
Mr Ricci said: “Events such as these are a key opportunity to meet local employers and find out more about the job opportunities available nearby.
"It was inspiring to meet so many local businesses, old and new, who are providing employment in the district.
"Whether you’re looking for a new career, looking to start a career or just new opportunities in your chosen sector, they are an excellent opportunity to network and find out what’s out there.”
The next job fair is due to take place in March.
