PARENTS were invited to find out from teachers how to support their children during their GCSE years.
Year 10 students from New Rickstones Academy in Witham were invited along with their parents to the first Preparing for Success event.
Every student was given their own English, maths, and science revision guide, as well as guidance on how to achieve their potential over the next two years.
Heads of department from core subjects were also on hand to answer any questions students or their families had on reaching their goals.
Assistant headteacher Lee Perry said: “We welcomed our Year 10 cohort into the academy to share with them some key information and supportive measures which we feel will be crucial for them in driving success over the next two years in their GCSE courses.
“We wanted parents and students to receive information to support and drive success, with strategies shared linking to effective revision, time management and ways to support at home.
“It was brilliant to see so many purposeful conversations taking place at the end of the event where our heads of English, maths, and science were on hand to answer any questions and also speak about the challenges which lie ahead.”
