AN elderly cat found as a stray is looking for her retirement pad after settling into life at an animal sanctuary.
The Danaher Animal Shelter in Wethersfield is looking to find a home for 12-year-old Rusty.
A spokesman said: "Rusty is our dear older lady feline, found as a stray and now really enjoying the warm bed, cuddles and food with us here at Danaher.
"She would be even happier if she could find a retirement home to spend her golden years in.
"At 12 years old she is looking for a calm home to retire to with a cosy bed, as nothing makes her happier than finding a nice warm place to rest her head.
"Rusty is looking to be the only pet in the home and would benefit from an experienced owner as she can be a little fussy about where she likes to be stroked.
"She is a cheeky tortoiseshell, so an owner with experience of cats would be preferable.
"She is on a renal diet here, to help protect her renal system, which we would recommend she stays on in her new home.
"Rusty is also already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed."
