ESSEX County Council has revealed proposals to implement a speed limit and vehicle restrictions on a housing development.
The council has submitted a 20mph zone and no waiting restrictions in several roads that make up the Hatfield Grove Estate, in Hatfield Peverel, to Essex Highways.
With the proposal currently under consultation, if it is successful the speed limit will be put into effect for all six roads across the estate.
They include Agar Place, Friesian Way, Upson Walk, Rayleigh Court, Arla Mews, The Pastures, and all private drives.
A 20mph zone will also be introduced from a point just south-west of Old Dairy Approach’s junction with Station Road.
The council's reason for the speed restriction is that roads in the estate are designed in a way that vehicle speeds are at 24mph or lower, due to measures including road humps and bends.
Single yellow line no-waiting restrictions will be in place from 8am to 9.30am and 4.30pm to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
They are meant to stop commuters using the nearby train station from parking on the development.
