A SUPER slimmer shed an impressive seven stone after being left "in pain and unhappy" after piling on the pounds.
Carol Morgan, 61, was left battling a list of health complaints after her weight reached 16st and 11lb.
Carol, from Witham, was unable to walk without being breathless and had high blood pressures.
But after turning to Slimming World she has got down to 9st 10lb and gone from a size 24/26 to a size 10/12.
She said: “I love feeling happier in my own skin.
"I enjoy saying yes to trying new activities and I can keep up with my friend when we go for a walk, in fact I can walk and talk and not need to gasp for breath or have to stop for rests."
Carol is part of the Witham Southview School Slimming World group which is being relaunched by new consultant Karen Foster.
She said: “In 2020 I was trying to lose weight alone stubbornly refusing to return to Slimming World, but really I was only kidding myself I could do it on my own and my health was suffering.”
She suffered with high blood pressure, a fatty liver, breathlessness and tiredness.
After her life changes, Carol no longer has high blood pressure and has reversed her fatty liver.
Carol said: “When I was overweight, I was in pain and unhappy.
“I tried all sorts of shortcuts to losing weight, all but surgery, fad diets where I would lose weight by nearly starving or living on cabbage and apples.
“This weight loss was short lived.
“I had not learnt what to eat for a sensible weight loss and maintain a healthy weight.
“All I wanted to do was sit on the sofa and eat crisps and drink sugary drinks...making the decision to return to Slimming World changed that.
“It's not easy to lose weight alone but if you follow the plan it works.
“You are with like minded people who understand and will support you.
“I have made friendships in the group that will last a lifetime.”
