With more than 400 positive reviews on Google, Mosaic is known to be a popular restaurant hotspot, based in Braintree town centre.
The Turkish restaurant is in Bank Street and after noticing its appealing exterior whilst walking through the town centre on a sunny Thursday afternoon, I felt compelled to step in for a bite.
As soon as you walk in the premises, you’re greeted by not only the friendly staff but by the colourful and tasteful aesthetic of the restaurant.
The space was much larger than I thought it was going to be and I was shown to my table located near the front window.
Once seated, I was excited to discover what Mediterranean delights awaited, and there was a whole host of tasty looking dishes on the menu to satisfy my lunchtime hunger.
A meze is a selection of hot and cold dishes which are served as appetisers.
The menu boasted meze dishes such as cacik (creamy strained yogurt with cucumber, mint, dill and garlic), pan-fired halloumi cheese, sucuk (traditional spicy turkish sausage) and much more.
In terms of main courses, there were also grilled special kebabs, seafood, pasta, and vegetarian dishes available.
I opted for the falafel wrap with hummus, lettuce, fresh herbs, cucumber, peppers and onion.
After ordering, I was to-ing and fro-ing whether I had made the right decision, but any doubt soon evaporated as it was easily one of the most delicious wraps I have eaten in a long time.
I polished the wraps off with the accompanying side of chips and a coke, while tasting the chili and garlic sauces that come as part of the meal.
The service was excellent service throughout my short but very enjoyable lunchtime visit.
Prior to ordering, I spoke to the courteous waiter who was looking after to me and explained I was worried I may be rushed for time as I had to go to a meeting in 30 minutes.
They assured me there would be no delays and that it would not be a problem.
After a reasonable wait, my meal arrived, and I still had plenty of time to pay and leave for my meeting.
The meal and drink came to £12.65 in total, and I would happily visit Mosaic again.
