A poultry farm has been told it can not continue to use four caravans for workers by Braintree Council.
Grove Smith Turkeys, at Hubbard's Farm, Shalford, has had its request to continue using the caravans on its site denied.
The application was originally received by the council on November 7, 2023, and related to caravans on site being used by the farm’s workers as accommodation.
The council ruled against the application saying the farm could not show the caravans had been used for residential accommodation for at least ten years.
Grove Smith Turkeys is a family-run business which has been operating for more than 50 years.
It supplies high-quality meat to the food industry.
The business raises the turkeys and slaughters them on site.
The entire farm site covers 617 acres of land.
