A WELL-KNOWN pub is set to reopen its doors with an exciting launch event.
The Swan, in Bank Street, Braintree, will celebrate its relaunch this Friday evening.
Businessman Ken Tang is the new owner of the Swan and has enlisted a passionate team to spearhead the business.
On Friday night, February 9, The Swan will celebrate its relaunch by hosting Michael Bublé and Elvis Presley tribute acts.
Georgia Summers, of Chelmsford, is the new assistant manager under Ken and has a background working in the bar industry.
She said: “We are excited and feel it’s going to be a good venture.
“We’re very optimistic, we have a brilliant crowd coming down already for it.
“We will be open from 5pm on Friday afternoon.”
“The acts will be on from 8.30pm.”
Ken, who also owns Posh Nails in Rayne Road, was looking for a new venture and decided to take on the Swan.
With a tight-knit team of six, including Ken and Georgia, they are determined to “completely change the venue around”, improve its reputation and make it a thriving and positive business.
Georgia said: “We know the Swan has a poor reputation - we want to eradicate that.
“With the team we have and the artists and events we will be putting on, I think that will help the big turnaround.
“We want people to see it is a completely different venue.
“The Swan will cater to everybody, family, dogs, grandparents, and make sure everyone has a good time.
“We have also got a whole new selection of drinks - ales, beers, spirits, shots, and more.”
A Facebook post from its previous management on New Year's Eve 2022 confirmed the pub would be closing down and it has remained shut until now.
For its opening weekend the pub will open from noon and close at 1am.
During next week, Monday to Friday, the Swan will open from 12noon to 11pm.
