A CHARITY is launching a new programme to help men with their physical and mental health.
Fusion Lifestyle will begin its men-only 'morning champions' programme at its leisure centres in Halstead and Witham in March.
The classes aim to combat social isolation and improve men’s physical and mental health through exercise.
Its body work sessions are geared towards building strength and fitness levels, while increasing mobility.
The holistic sections of the programme are designed to reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance general positive mental health and wellbeing.
The classes will start from March 5 at Halstead Leisure Centre, in Colne Road, and from March 6 at Witham Leisure Centre, in Spinks Lane.
Fusion's Richard Moss said: “We are delighted to be offering this fantastic course to men in the Braintree area.
“We recognise that there are a lot of men who feel isolated and need more support with their physical and mental health needs.
“We are delighted to be able to help them on their journey towards better health and wellness with this pioneering programme.”
The programme has two separate classes - the 'holistic warriors' and the 'mindful champions'.
The holistic warriors routine combines strenuous physical activity, including bodywork, boxing conditioning and resistance training.
Classes will run from 7.30am to 08.20am at both locations.
The mindful champions sessions will utilise yoga, Pilates, and relaxation breathwork and body awareness, running from 8.30am to 9.20am.
Members of Fusion Lifestyle and visitors to both centres will be able to book onto the programme.
Ten spaces will be reserved at each centre for men who are referred to the programme and they will be able to take part in the classes for free.
Fusion was established in 2000 and promotes the benefits of healthy lifestyles and encourages participation in sport and physical activity.
