BRAINTREE town’s first ever cat café is set to officially open its doors this weekend.
Whiskers and Paws Cat Café will open on Saturday from 9.30am until 7pm and will provide customers with the chance to enjoy some tasty food and drinks whilst being accompanied by some feline friends.
Sarah Fretwell, a mother who has a background working with SEN children, decided to set up the business in George Yard Shopping Centre after visiting several cat cafes with her daughter.
Whiskers and Paws Cat Café is expected to have a homely feel and Sarah is working with local cat rescue charities to help them find felines new homes.
Each cat at the café will have a small QR code on their collar to direct visitors to the cat’s page on the charity’s website in case they want to adopt them.
Whiskers and Paws Cat Café will operate Monday to Thursday, from 9.30am until 6pm, Friday and Saturday, from 9.30am to 7pm, and Sundays, from 10am until 4pm.
A one-hour admission slot costs £6 per adult and £4 for children.
This will be the second cat café to launch in the district, after Meow Cat Café opened in Halstead.
