A ROAD has been closed and a motorcyclist rushed to hospital following a serious crash in an Essex village.

Police were called shortly after 9.40am to Waltham Road, in Boreham, following reports of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

The road is closed at the junction of Main Road and Essex Police is advising motorists to find alternative routes whilst enquiries are conducted at the scene.

It is not expected to open for several hours.

The motorcyclist, a man 30s, has been taken to hospital.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses following the incident.

A spokesman said: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us."
