DRIVERS are facing long delays after a broken down vehicle closed one lane on a major Essex road.
One lane is currently closed on the Colchester-bound A12 between Marks Tey and Eight Ash Green, the AA reports.
A vehicle is understood to have broken down in the construction area.
The issue was first reported by the AA at just after 3.30pm but traffic remains heavy in the area.
Speed sensors indicate queues on the A12 are back as far as Kelvedon, while the issue is also having a knock-on effect on drivers heading towards Colchester on the A120.
One driver told the Gazette they have been stuck on the A120 approaching the A12 for 35 minutes.
