ALMOST 400 homes near Witham have been left in the dark because of an unexpected power cut.
UK Power Networks engineers are investigating a power cut affecting 391 properties in the CO5 9 and CM8 3 postcode areas.
The affected areas include Rivenhall, Great Braxted, and Little Braxted.
The power cut comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind covering the whole of Essex.

A statement on the UK Power Networks website says: "Our engineers have arrived on site in the CO5 9 and CM8 3 area to investigate the power cut affecting 391 properties.
"Specialist engineers are also working to divert power remotely, and this can cause your lights to go on and off.
"We know that a power cut can be very disruptive. We understand this can greatly impact your daily activities and we want to support you however we can."
It is currently estimated power will be switched back on between 12.30pm and 1.30pm today.
