THE carnival court for a popular Braintree event has been revealed for this year.
The queen and princesses have been crowned for this year’s Braintree and Bocking Carnival, which takes place on June 8.
A competition was held and a crowning dance was held in the evening at Jardins Pub, in East Street, where courts from across the county were invited to join the celebrations.
Darcey Minton has been announced as the junior princess, and Porsha Hughes will the court’s senior princess.
Raven O’Connor has been named as the rosebud princess, and Olivia Green is this year’s carnival court queen.
The court members will spend the next year representing Braintree at many events.
After leading a procession at Braintree and Bocking Carnival in June, the court will visit other carnivals around Essex.
Braintree and Bocking Carnival committee member Ann Cresswell said: “As a member of the committee and a resident of Braintree, we are all very excited about Braintree Carnival on June 8.
"It’s a fun afternoon where generations of families get to spend quality time together and have fun.
“It brings the community together and lots of people into our town.
"We also raise money for charities, and our charities this year are Alec Hunter Pre-School and Cancer Research UK.”
