A GARAGE burst into flames before firefighters rushed to the scene.
Two crews from Braintree and Coggeshall were called to a property in Thackeray Close, Braintree, at 9.22pm yesterday after receiving reports of a fire.
Shortly after arriving at the scene, the firefighters found a garage which was 50 per cent alight before quickly extinguishing it to stop it spreading to nearby properties.
Crew manager Sharon Blute from Braintree Fire Station said: "We had two on-call crews who arrived at the scene quickly and worked to prevent the fire spreading to other garages.
“We’re recruiting on-call firefighters at Braintree and Coggeshall fire stations.
“If you live or work within five minutes of either station, please consider applying.
“It’s such a rewarding role and you’ll be paid to help make your community safe."
The cause of the fire has been recorded as “accidental or deliberate”,
