A POPULAR golf club is set to expand its services after its bid to add new facilities to its site had been approved.

The Notleys Golf Club, in Witham Road, Black Notley, has confirmed it is set to install four external padel courts and a mini golf course.

An application was submitted by David Bugg at Golfwise LTD in November 2022, and it was approved in January 2023.

A further application connected to the paddle courts was validated by Braintree Council on May 7 regarding the materials used on the paddle courts.

Once the outdoor courts are installed it will take up more than 0.25 hectares of the club’s site.

The original planning application suggests two full-time members of staff and one part-time employee could be employed due to the development.

The padel courts will be constructed at the north of the clubhouse, with each being 20 metres in length and 10 metres wide, with a lightweight frame and mesh enclosed around each court.

A full mini golf course will be located to the south west corner of the clubhouse.

David Bugg from Golfwise LTD is thrilled about the ongoing development and customers can expect to use the new facilities in August.

He said: "The application for four Padel Tennis courts and an 18-hole Adventure Golf course has been approved by Braintree Council.

"It is hoped construction of the courts will be completed by early August and ready for play.

"The Adventure Golf will be open for Easter 2025 with an Essex landmark theme for the obstacles.

"The Padel courts, Adventure Golf, Footgolf course, Driving Range and the 18-hole golf course are open to all.
