A "GENTLE" cat who has had a "tough start to life" is looking for his new forever home.
Four-year-old cat Eddie is waiting at the Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield.
A spokesman said: "Eddie is a gentle soul, eager for a patient, understanding heart to unlock his affections.
"He's had a bit of a tough start in life which has left him a tad sensitive, but his personality shines through when he feels safe and understood.
"When he came to us, Eddie was very nervous. However, since being in our care, Eddie has completely come out of his shell.
"He has now shown great interest in playing with toys and has been responding well to a human companion.
"Eddie would still be best suited to an adult home, free from the unpredictability of young children.
"His ideal home a one that is quiet and calm, where he can roam both indoors and out, with the gentle support of his human.
"With the right person who can respect his boundaries, Eddie will flourish, developing trust and a bond as rewarding as it is sincere.
"In the company of fellow feline friends, Eddie's confidence begins to blossom.
"He shows signs of wanting to be part of a multi-cat household, where a slow and steady introduction could lead to friendships built on mutual respect and shared quiet moments."
