A HOUSING developer will be celebrating one of its developments nearing completion handing over nearly £3 million to the council.
Redrow has revealed there are currently only three homes left at its Meadow View development in Silver End.
The 350-home development is a mix of three and four-bedroom properties.
To celebrate the development phase near completion, Redrow will be handing over almost £3 million to Essex County Council and building 140 affordable homes for families in the county.
It will also be constructing four bungalows for wheelchair users.
It is all part of Redrow Eastern's Section 106 contributions for the Meadow View development - the planning obligations between the housebuilder and the county authority.
Managing director for Redrow Eastern Mark Becker said: “We are committed to building thriving, sustainable, future-proofed communities, and it’s fantastic to see this philosophy come to life at Meadow View.
“In addition to much-needed high-quality private and affordable homes in Silver End, we are investing in the development of the local area and actively contributing toward its improvement.
“Our vision is to enhance the local infrastructure for Silver End’s current and future residents with improvements to education, open space and the community."
