BRAINTREE Council has said a number of areas in the district will be reissued with new polling cards after incorrect ones were sent out.
The council said it is aware some households have received their poll cards that stated the wrong parliamentary constituency on it.
"This was due to a system error which wasn’t updated by our external provider following the parliamentary constituencies boundary changes," a spokesman said.
The eight polling districts affected are Black Notley, Braintree (Hill House), Cressing, Colne Engaine, Earls Colne, Pebmarsh, Stisted and White Colne.
The council has said the poll cards for these areas will be reissued as soon as possible.
"The polling station details on the poll card are correct and postal votes and ballot papers are unaffected," a spokesman said.
"We apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused."
