A TOP tribute to an iconic 70s band is coming to Witham this week.
Bootleg Blondie, dubbed the world’s “number one Blondie tribute band”, are at the Witham Public Hall on Friday.
Blondie are an American new wave band formed in New York City in 1974.
Led by the iconic Debbie Harry on vocals, Blondie blended punk rock with pop, disco, and even reggae, creating a unique sound.
They rose to fame in the late 70s with hits like Heart of Glass, Call Me, and One Way or Another.
They broke up in the early 80s but have since reunited and continue to tour and record.
Blondie are considered a pioneering force in new wave and one of the most influential bands of their era.
Bootleg Blondie are hailed as the world's number one Blondie tribute band and are endorsed by Debbie Harry herself.
Bootleg singer Debbie Harris is a dead ringer of the real thing and starred on TV's Even Better Than The Real Thing, hosted by Paddy McGuinness.
They are the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB club where the originals cut their teeth in New York, and even toured the UK in 2019 with legendary Blondie drummer and good friend Clem Burke to celebrate the 40th anniversary of iconic album Parallel Lines.
A spokesman for the Witham Public Hall said: “The world's number one official Blondie tribute band and endorsed by Debbie Harry, Bootleg Blondie present a sensational, authentic stage show.
“Lead vocalist Debbie Harris has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage.
“Re-live the power of the original band in this first-class tribute.”
Bootleg Blondie is at the town venue on Friday, July 5.
Doors open at 7pm before the show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £17 and are available from Witham Town Hall, online from withampublichall.co.uk or by calling 0345 017 8717.
