Police are investigating after a security guard was reportedly assaulted at Tesco's Marks Farm store.

Officers were called to Tesco at Marks Farm in Braintree at around 4pm on May 2 following reports of an assault.

The female suspect had stolen items to the value of around £10 before attempting the leave the store.

When confronted by a security guard, police say the woman assaulted him by pushing him and kicking him. He sustained minor injuries.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a woman in connection with an ongoing shoplifting and assault investigation in Braintree.

Investigating officers have released an image of a woman, who they would like to speak with in connection with this investigation.
