NOMINATIONS are open for this year's Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree Awards.
Organised by Braintree Council and Active Braintree Foundation, the awards, sponsored by Braintree Village, provide an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the work done by those who give their time to help their communities become better, healthier places to live, work and play.
The Braintree District Volunteer Awards have been running since 2017 and the Active Braintree Sports awards have been running since 2014.
Last year, they merged to become the Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree awards.

The categories are:
- Long Service
- Inspirational Role Model
- Going the Extra Mile
- Volunteer Group
- Outstanding New Volunteer
- Health & Wellbeing Award
- Sports Personality of the Year (Adult)
- Sports Personality of the Year (Young Person)
