THE founder of a vital Witham organisation is “thrilled” after the charity has won three prestigious awards.
The Witham Hub, based in The Grove Shopping Centre, has been crowned the Regional Social Inclusion Initiative of the Year for the east of England by Acquisition International Magazine.
The magazine held its fourth annual Non-Profit Organization Awards, with The Witham Hub also picking up an award for its range of pet products and services supplied.
It was also named 'most compassionate community support service for Essex’ in the SME UK Enterprise Awards.
The award recognises the key role that it has played in actively combating social exclusion.
Tina Townsend founded The Witham Hub in 2017.
Its main purpose is to help people living in Witham and the surrounding area.
This is achieved by helping to prevent people from becoming socially excluded by relieving their needs and helping them integrate back into society.
She said: “We are absolutely thrilled and honoured that our work has been recognised again in the NPO awards and also in the SME UK Enterprise awards.
“These awards very clearly demonstrate that we have a great, talented team at The Hub who work tremendously hard for the community.
“None of us do it to win awards but this is a very big pat on the back for all of us, particularly the volunteers, who give so freely of their time.”
