A NEW Braintree SEND charity has opened its doors this week.
After weeks of speedy redecorating and revamping, Happy Hill threw open its doors on Monday.
The premises in Great Notley, at Great Notley Country Park, has benefited from fresh coats of paint and loving hands, and it’s open just in time for the summer holidays.
Speaking to the Times, Founder and CEO Heather Hill said: “There will be more inclusion of everyone, so they get used to our children and vice versa, so they can grow together.
“We’re not leaving any child behind, no matter what the disability is.”
Heather started Happy Hill in 2018 for three to 25-year-olds after she understood the challenges of raising SEND children first hand.
Happy Hill has a life skills room to help educate SEND youth on home skills, as well as a sensory room, soft playroom, and outdoor play spaces.
Heather wants Happy Hill to be a hub where hairdressers, dentists, nurses, and social workers can use the building to attend SEND children.
Earlier this month it was announced Loose Women’s Linda Robson was the official patron of the charity.
