A CRASH has caused a section of the A120 to close which is leading to long delays for motorists.

Traffic control has reported that the A120 Coggeshall Road is closed both ways from Kings Lane to the A131 Marks Farm Roundabout.

This is due to a crash that was first reported at 7.16am today, August 7.

There is traffic congestion back to the Coggeshall bypass and the A131 Braintree bypass.

There are also delays on the A120 Northbound approaching the Marks Farm Roundabout.

The road has closed since 7.45am and there are still long queues in the area.

A spokesman for Essex Police has commented on the incident.

They said: "We were called to Coggeshall Road in Braintree at around 7:45am this morning following a collision involving a van and a motorbike. 

"Emergency services including the air ambulance service were in attendance and a man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

"Officers remain at the scene."
