Two buildings in a village near the A12 have been badly damaged by fire as firefighters
Four Essex Fire and Rescue Crews worked together to extinguish a fire which affected two properties in Generals Lane, Boreham in the late afternoon of August 9.
The firefighters from Chelmsford, Rayleigh Weir and Maldon prevented the flames from spreading to neighbouring buildings in the area, but could not save the buildings from the bad damage.
According to the emergency service, an investigation will take place today to determine the cause of the fire.
Three crews remained on scene throughout the evening to monitor hotspots and cool the area.
Station Manager Scott Fretton said: “Initial crews worked extremely hard to surround the fire with difficult access and prevented it spreading further.”
