EMERGENCY services were called to a “serious collision” in Witham this morning which has left one man in hospital.
Officers and the ambulance service were called in the early hours of this morning, August 20, after reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a van in Hatfield Road, Witham.
A man in his 20s has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance for emergency care.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 3.04am this morning with reports of a collision in Hatfield Road, Witham.
“We sent Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and ambulance officer vehicle.
“One man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by land ambulance for further care.
The road was cordoned off and saw traffic buildup along Malting’s Lane, before the road was reopened at 7.30am.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 3.15am on Tuesday 20 August to reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a van in Hatfield Road, Witham.
“A man in his 20s was taken to hospital where he remains.
“The road was reopened at 7.30am.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident should call 101 and quote incident 115 of 20 August.”
