A BEAUTY salon in Witham is celebrating a collection of national beauty awards including Hair Salon of the Year for the sixth year in a row.
Cabello Hair and Beauty, in Newland Street, has won six awards at the British Beauty Awards 2024 this month, with three stylists winning in their own individual categories.
Kat Berale, 46, has been hairdressing for 20 years and running Cabello Hair and Beauty for almost ten years.
She said: “This is our sixth consecutive year winning in Southeast Hair Salon of the Year, and this year we won gold.
“I’m absolutely over the moon.”
Stylists provided extensive portfolios and ‘before and afters’ for their awards categories.
Kat won gold for the national Best Marketing award, while stylist Emily was up against the whole of the UK for her Rising Star award where she won silver.
Other colleagues Jessica won silver for Stylist of the Year and Diane won gold for Colourist of the Year.
Kat added: “These awards show to any new customers that we’ve got that accolade, that we’re a good salon, that we’re being tried and tested, and we perform great work.”
Cabello Hair and Beauty won bronze for Top-Rated Salon of the Year, which is down to customers’ reviews.
Kat said: “A Google review is the best thing that you can do for your favourite business- they mean everything to us.”
The vibrant salon is known for its natural décor and its refreshments, which includes classic cocktails, mocktails, milkshakes, vegan drinks and tea and coffee.
It’s approaching its ten-year anniversary in December, which Kat is excited for.
She said: “I’m most proud that our eco-salon philosophy is still going strong and the relationships I have with customers and the community.
“It’s been tough with the last years of Covid, and it’s tougher now than ever because people have very high expectations of things that aren’t perhaps achievable because of social media.
“We’re so busy, I really want to welcome new staff and experienced stylists.
“We want to keep going, win more awards next year, and make sure we’re open in another ten years!”
