CIRCUS Cortex proved to be a smash hit in Witham, with many locals visiting the luminous big top on Spa Road.
The ‘Golden Age’ show delved into the glitz and sophistication of the 1920s and featured many traditional circus delights including high wire, slack wire, perch pole, and juggling.
Director Paul Archer said to the Times: “We’re very committed and we’re very passionate about giving the public what they pay for—a performance.
“We don’t have a ringmaster, and there’s something more exciting about running the show that way because there’s a flow all the way through and there’s never a dull moment for the audience.
“We strive to give them a performance suitable for everybody.”
Paul and his wife Irina started Circus Cortex together four years ago, which kicked off in Mildenhall in Suffolk in 2021.
Since its opening night in Witham last Thursday, locals have been raving about its humour, entertainment, and suitability for all.
When we went to see it last week, we were blown away by the performers’ skill, enthusiasm and daring, which is clear to see in all these brilliant photos by Daniel Reed, @captainceramics on Instagram.
