A BOY has been taken to hospital for surgery following a fight in Black Notley, Braintree.

Officers were called to Witham Road at around 8.30pm last Sunday after reports of fighting.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers were called to Witham Road in Black Notley at around 8.30pm on Sunday, September 1, following reports of a disturbance.

“Reports said a group of around four to five people were fighting.

“Officers attended and those involved, who are all under the age of 18, were located.

“One boy was taken to hospital and since required surgery for injuries to his hands.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.

"Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible."
