A MAN who has denied assaulting and strangling his ex-partner will stand trial next year.
Glen Nelson, 54, appeared on a video link from HMP Chelmsford on Tuesday to deny two charges of actual bodily harm and one charge each of criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker, grievous bodily harm, and intentional strangulation.
All the alleged offences are believed to have taken place in Witham in July and August of this year.
Summarising Nelson’s position at Chelmsford Crown Court, Her Honour Judge Mary Loram KC said: “It’s a straightforward factual denial.
“He is saying everyone is lying.”
Nelson, of no fixed address, will stand trial in January.
