A SKATEPARK Jam event saw families roll up to Ramsey Road to celebrate the revamped park.
The Skatepark Jam event was held last Saturday, at the newly reopened Ramsey Road Skatepark in Halstead.
There were many fun activities for everyone to enjoy on the day, including a series of free skateboard lessons, free scooter lessons, a skateboard demo with young local skater Jenson Inkpin.
There were also freestyle skate and scooter sessions, competitions with prizes sponsored by Bungabled Skateboards, live music from DJ JayCee and stage, lighting and sounds supported by DMP Lighting and Sound.
Visitors were able to enjoy the sunshine on the day, with many bringing along picnics or purchasing ice cream and burgers from local traders.
Councillor Tom Cunningham, Cabinet Member for Transformation, the Environment, and Customer Services at Braintree District Council, said: "We are delighted that the local community enjoyed this event and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive.
“We would like to say a huge thank you everyone who came along and to all the volunteers and business who helped organise this successful celebration.”
It’s one of three skateparks in the local area which has undergone a “modern” revamp.
Weavers Park in Braintree was reopened to the public last month, which Braintree Council celebrated with another Skate Jam event.
Spectators in Braintree were impressed by the skills and tricks the skateboarders, scooters and bike riders performed, from beginners to the more experienced.
Bungabled Skateboards also offered prizes for competitions for over and under 12s, which returned for the Halstead Skate Jam event last weekend.
The success of the Braintree Skate Jam event had residents excited for Ramsey Road, which did not disappoint.
The final Skate Jam event will be held at the Spa Road Skatepark in Witham, on Saturday, October 5.
