AN iconic musician dubbed one of Britain’s "biggest-ever stars” is coming back to Witham next month.

Marty Wilde and the Wildcats are set to perform at the Witham Public Hall.

Marty Wilde is a legendary British singer and actor who rose to fame in the 1950s as one of the pioneers of rock and roll in the UK.

Known for his energetic performances and his ability to emulate the American rock 'n' roll sound,

Wilde had a string of hits including "Endless Sleep," "Sea of Love," and "Bad Boy."

His career extended beyond the 1950s, and he continued to perform and record well into the 21st century.

Notably, he is the father of the pop star Kim Wilde, who followed in his footsteps and achieved her own success in the 1980s.  

Wilde's music was characterised by its catchy melodies and energetic rhythms, often featuring themes of love, heartbreak, and rebellion.
