RIBBONS have been placed on Witham' High Street in memory to babies loved and lost in the town.

Baby bereavement charity, Little Wings of Hope was established by Leila Hobart in August 2023, one month after the sad loss of her son, Oscar.

The charity aims to support families grieving the loss of a baby by holding support groups, sending out support packs and funding trips for grieving parents to take a break to grieve.

Last year, for Baby Loss Awareness week, Little Wings of Hope organised pink and blue displays in local business windows as well as Witham’s Valero Lounge hosting quiz nights in aid of the charity.

The ribbons display the names of more than 100 babies.

Charity founder, Leila Hobart said: “I’m thrilled that Little Wings of Hope have been able to contribute something so meaningful to the community through our charity.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to see our hard work come to life and to know that it’s bringing people together.

“Being able to give back in this way is incredibly fulfilling, especially since it’s so close to home and close to my heart having lost Oscar, our son.

“Seeing the town come alive with this tribute is something I’m so proud of, and I hope it inspires others to break the silence and open the conversation around baby loss.”

The display will be visible until the end of Baby Loss Awareness week on October 15.

Little Wings of Hope will be attending Witham’s autumn fair on October 19, which will see arts and crafts stalls and local businesses.
