THE LATEST update from UK Power Networks says that Bakers Lane will reopen this week.
Despite fears the works would overrun further, a spokesman for UKPN has confirmed works are still scheduled to open this Friday, October 25.
The spokesman said: “There is no change to our scheduled completion date and we still plan to reopen Bakers Lane on Friday, October 25.”
This update will come as a relief to residents after weeks of traffic chaos on the alternative route on Notley Road, with drivers being forced on a four-mile diversion.
