ESSEX Highways has announced a section of the A131 between Halstead and Braintree will temporarily close next week, due to drainage works.
Preparations to carry out a CCTV drainage survey and jetting works on Pennypot corner began on October 28 and are due to be complete by October 30.
The works have been arranged as part of Essex Highways’ water alleviation scheme, to determine the cause of blocked drains in the area.
A spokesman for Essex Highways said: “As well as jetting, we will be carrying out drainage surveys on Pennypot Corner, Greenstead Green, by lowering cameras into the drains.
“This is scheduled to take place between October 28 and October 30 and is part of our surface water alleviation scheme to determine the cause of blocked drains in the area.
"For safety, road closures will be in place overnight from 8pm to 5am along a section of the A131 and Pennypot Corner/Bournebridge Hill.
“Road diversions will be in place and signposted for residents.”
