A teenager has been charged following an incident in Chelmsford which left two people injured.
Police officers were called to an incident in Chelmsford’s High Street on Friday night at around 11.55pm.
A man had allegedly been punched and fell back, hitting his head on the pavement, Essex Police said.
The man suffered a serious head injury and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Police have confirmed that a second man had allegedly been assaulted and suffered injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Eighteen-year-old Luca Tracey, of St Agnes Road, Billericay, was arrested and later charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm
Tracey is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 28.
Essex Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incidents to contact them, quoting incident 1534 of October 25.
