ANOTHER year of successful fireworks displays saw thousands turn out to see the sky light up.
Both Witham and Braintree rugby clubs hosted their annual fireworks displays, offering food and sweet treats, a toasty bonfire, funfair activities and an exciting atmosphere filled with whizz-bangs and crackles.
A spokesman for Witham Rugby Club said: “It was another successful year at the Witham Rugby Club fireworks display.
“There was an amazing atmosphere, a great show as always and lots of fun had by all who came.”
“We thank all the community for their support.”
Witham’s display was held last Friday evening, with the main feature being a display by the double former British firework champions ‘Illusion Fireworks’.
The display at Braintree Rugby Club was held on Tuesday evening on Bonfire Night as it is every year.
Funfair activities included hook the duck, a haunted house, rides for both older and younger children, and sugary-soft candyfloss.
Aside from the fireworks display and the first aid team, Braintree Rugby Club’s show is run entirely by volunteers with all profits going back into the family club.
It has been running its annual show for almost all 60 years since the club was founded.
Thousands of people enjoyed the glittering displays.
