A NEW drama school has opened in Braintree with “exciting” and “confidence-building” experiences for kids.

StandUP Theatre School focuses on drama, acting and public speaking to give children the confidence to thrive “in the classroom and beyond.”

Sessions include drama games, acting exercises, devising and performance opportunities.

The school also offers LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams, which are nationally recognised qualifications in communication and performance.

Additionally, as students reach the higher grades including grades 6, 7 and 8, they are awarded UCAS points which can be added to their final UCAS Tariff points when applying for higher education at university.

There are already StandUP schools in Witham and Brentwood which run on the same timetable as Braintree.

Alex said: “We’re so excited to be opening StandUP Theatre School right here in Braintree.

“Our goal has always been to create a fun, welcoming space where kids can be themselves, make friends, and build confidence through drama.

“Whether they dream of being on stage or just want to try something new, our classes help kids find their voice, work as a team, and have a blast along the way!”

StandUP Theatre School stands out with its aim to build kids’ confidence using drama skills.

It is an inclusive school which “encourages an individual talent” and, most importantly, ensures students can have fun and make new friends.

StandUP Theatre School will opened on November 7 at Marks Farm Community Hall.
