The harvest thanksgiving service at 10.45am on Sunday, was shared with the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades being on parade.
The church had been decorated with flowers and harvest goods and there were boxes of food for Harvest for the Hungry Appeal. The goods were later sold for the charity World Vision.
The congregation were welcomed by Brigade captain Yvonne Towns and the service was led by the Brigade officers, with Geoffrey Green giving the talk.
After the service, coffee was served and then lunch was prepared by the women of the church, to which several people stayed.
On Sunday, Simon Curran, from Bishop’s Stortford Baptist Church, will be the preacher at 10.45am and communion will be at 6.30pm.
