He's back!
Olly Murs has revealed he’ll be battling his nerves as he performs a homecoming gig.
The X Factor runner up will play in Braintree on January 27 - his first gig in the district since his star turn on the ITV show.
“Coming back to Braintree is probably the most nervous I will be,” said the popular crooner. “Braintree is right on my doorstep.”
Olly, 25, will be at Chicago Rock Cafe at Freeport and on Monday he spoke to the Braintree and Witham Times in between greeting fans and having pictures taken while sorting out a new mobile phone in Chelmsford.
Olly is back in Essex for a few days and he was due on stage at Chicago Rock Cafe in Basildon on Wednesday.
“I’m really looking forward to the Braintree gig and hope I get a good response,” he said.
Olly, of Carraways, Witham, said the support as he has toured the country has been “incredible” but it will be extra special performing so close to home.
“I have been to Chicago’s in Braintree plenty of times and I’ve got a lot of friends in the town, as well as Witham, of course,” said the former Notley High School and Braintree College pupil.
Meanwhile Olly said he was “honoured” to be booked to sing at glamour model Danielle Lloyd’s engagement party.
Footballer Jamie O’ Hara proposed to her last month and although Olly admitted to not knowing them personally he said he can’t wait to sing.
