Schoolchildren investigated a mysterious UFO which had crash landed on their playing field.

Braintree PCSOs James Graham and Petra Urbanova helped pupils at Great Bardfield Primary School question a teacher acting as a forensic expert about the event.

The 150 children at the school took part in alien themed activities throughout the day as part of the Big Reading Week which includes other events such as a Roald Dahl day and a trip to the theatre.

Headteacher Anne Barney said: “The PCSOs made it more real for the children as they could not believe the police were there.

“It was all about stimulating their creative writing and the reports they produced were outstanding.”
