The recycling plant has escaped closure but is likely to shut one day a week to help save money.
Fears the centre in Perry Road, Witham, was to close have been quashed by the county council but it is currently consulting on plans to close on a day in the week- possibly Thursday.
Under the plans two of the county’s 23 recycling centres are likely to close in the changes, which could be implemented in October, and nine including Witham could only open six days.
All sites will open an hour later at 9am and there will be no late openings but all will open weekends under the proposals.
